My battery life seemed to increase quite significantly using it also, which really made my day.

Then there’s the theming, it’s great! Not to mention the fact that the MIUI guys are the reason we have FM Radio on the Nexus One!

Here’s a quick video showing you some of the features:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XlBgnREyA0

Installation is real quick and easy too, simply head on over to http://miui-dev.com (Don’t worry, it’s in english).

Go to the Forums, then hit your applicable phone model. For me, it’s the Nexus One.

From there, you want what’s probably the top two stickied threads. At the time of writing, these are:

MIUI 0.12.11 Deodexed (Chinese)

Miui 0.12.11 n1 english language pack #1c

Now once you’ve downloaded both of those to your phone, you wanna flash the Deodexed chinese ROM first, then immediately afterwards flash the English Language Pack.

Restart, and you should be all good!

I ran into issues at first with mine, an application was constantly crashing. Turns out I had to go into the Settings –> Programs –> Manage Applications –> All, and clear the data for Settings and Settings Storage. As soon as I did that, it was fixed just fine 🙂

Lastly, if you have troubles with parts of it not being in English, you may need to press Menu –> Settings –> System –> Language & Input Settings –> Select Language –> Set it to “English (United States)”. Mine was “English (New Zealand)” and parts of it were still in Chinese. Changing it then rebooting fixed that!

If you run into troubles, let me know, I’ll do my best to help. If this post has helped you in any way, leave me a comment and say hi!

MIUI is a great alternative firmware to the likes of CyanogenMod.
