Inviting people to Google+ during the BETA phase

So you’ve heard about Google+, somebody has been kind enough to invite you, now you wanna get your mates in on the action? Awesome!

Well, it’s not much fun using social networking if you don’t have any friends on there to be social with, so I’ll show you how to get a few friends on. This process is bound to change and will be different of course later on when Google+ gets out of its “beta” testing stage, so just keep that in mind.

Anyway, it’s not difficult to get some friends, and here’s how you do it without constantly spamming all your other mates with useless posts, and it’ll only take about 60 seconds.

Start by clicking on the Circles button:

After that, create a new empty Circle by holding your mouse over this:

 

It’ll change to this:

 

Create a new Circle, I’ve been doing them by the date and adding a number afterwards:

 

Now the Circle is made, you’re going to add your new friend you want to invite to it by clicking “Add a new person” then entering their email address:

 

Hit Enter then type in their First / Last name, and choose to add them to the Circle you just created:

 

NOTE: You can only have 25 non-Google+ users that you’re going to be email-inviting in a single Circle, so just keep that in mind.

Now, click on the Google+ logo to go back to your main Stream, and we’re going to make a new post:

 

Click on “Add circles …” and add your newly created Circle. Hover your mouse over the blue circle name, and it’ll pop up. You want to tick “Notify about this post”, then hit Share!

That’s it, you’re all done. The emails are varying, some go out within a minute, others don’t go out for several hours.

Still, hopefully, this should be enough for you to invite a few of your mates so you can get testing!

Don’t forget to go back later and drag your mates into the appropriate circles, like “Friends” or “Family” etc, and remember that people can be in multiple circles.
